En ellas descansa una parte fundamental de la esperanza de las nuevas generaciones, y tambi\u00e9n del futuro del pa\u00eds.<br>Sin embargo, esa confianza \u2014que es un activo enorme\u2014 conlleva una responsabilidad que no puede eludirse: educar para transformar, no solo para entregar t\u00edtulos y certificar.<br>Durante d\u00e9cadas, la universidad fue el lugar donde estaba el conocimiento. Hoy, ese paradigma cambi\u00f3 radicalmente.<br>La inteligencia artificial ha democratizado el acceso al saber, poniendo al alcance de cualquier persona, en cualquier lugar, una cantidad de informaci\u00f3n antes inimaginable. En este nuevo escenario, el valor de la universidad ya no est\u00e1 en transmitir datos y conocimiento, sino en formar mentes capaces de pensar, discernir, integrar y aplicar el conocimiento en la realidad.<br>El prop\u00f3sito perdido de la educaci\u00f3n<br>Educar no puede reducirse a preparar para aprobar.<br>Educar es ense\u00f1ar a comprender, a cuestionar y a crear valor.<br>Y, sin embargo, gran parte del sistema universitario chileno se ha convertido en un engranaje complejo que dedica m\u00e1s energ\u00eda a su propio financiamiento que a revisar su misi\u00f3n formativa. El debate sobre becas, fondos, aranceles o financiamiento estatal \u2014por muy importante que sea\u2014 no puede seguir desplazando la conversaci\u00f3n sobre el prop\u00f3sito de la educaci\u00f3n.<br>Formar profesionales competentes no es un asunto de presupuesto, sino de visi\u00f3n.<br>No se trata de ense\u00f1ar m\u00e1s asignaturas, sino de conectar la ense\u00f1anza con la realidad del trabajo, de la empresa y de la sociedad.<br>Hoy, la distancia entre lo que se ense\u00f1a en las aulas y lo que el mundo necesita se ha vuelto abismal.<br>Cuando el t\u00edtulo no basta.<br>Cada a\u00f1o, miles de j\u00f3venes egresan de las universidades chilenas con t\u00edtulos que no logran reflejar competencias reales para su ejercicio profesional.<br>La mayor\u00eda aprende lo esencial reci\u00e9n cuando comienza a trabajar, y las empresas \u2014grandes y peque\u00f1as\u2014 terminan asumiendo el costo de esa brecha formativa.<br>La situaci\u00f3n se agrava al constatar que un n\u00famero importante de profesionales termina ejerciendo en \u00e1reas distintas a las que estudi\u00f3, una se\u00f1al clara de que la educaci\u00f3n superior no est\u00e1 alineada con el mundo laboral.<br>Las cifras lo confirman:<br>Chile invierte menos del 0,4 % del PIB en investigaci\u00f3n y desarrollo (I+D), muy por debajo del promedio de los pa\u00edses de la OCDE (2,7 %).<br>Esto no solo refleja una falta de inversi\u00f3n, sino tambi\u00e9n una falta de integraci\u00f3n entre el conocimiento acad\u00e9mico y la innovaci\u00f3n productiva.<br>En un pa\u00eds que necesita con urgencia elevar su productividad y diversificar su econom\u00eda, la educaci\u00f3n superior no puede mantenerse desconectada del trabajo
